Piano And All That Jazz Podcast - exclusively on iTunes

Artist Submissions

Dear PAATJ artist and friends of PAATJ,

Recently I've been asked several times why I require an artist to have their album on iTunes in order for it to be considered for programming on Piano And All That Jazz. There are three reasons:
1) It's an efficient way for me to listen to samples of an artist's music in rapid order and determine their music is suitable for the PAATJ format. Once I make the determination to feature an artist, I can then conveniently buy their album, a gesture I make to every artist appearing on PAATJ, as I don't want any professional musician giving away their music and this is the least I can do for them. I appreciate those of you having sent CDs in the past, but I'd much rather buy your album on iTunes so you realize a sale, and, these days, I buy all of my music in digital format.
2) The podcasts are featured exclusively on iTunes and it's an easy matter for the listener to navigate from the podcast to the iTunes Store and immediately purchase the artist's album.
3) An artist having their album on iTunes demonstrates a degree of professionalism to me and I'm more likely to investigate their music.
